As a contributor to the final volume of Professor Henry-Louis de La Grange's groundbreaking biography of Gustav Mahler, Sybille Werner revised and augmented the musical analyses the author had written and published in the last volume of his French edition; she also wrote some appendices and parts of the more substantial ones. Her research includes the most extensive survey of performances of Mahler's music during the first 50 years after his death, 1911 to 1961.
